Island Dave’s Cocktail Recipes

Classic Margaritas

Ah yes, the Margarita. A criminally misunderstood cocktail, this poor drink has been twisted (and blended, gasp!) into a sweet, syrupy, hangover inducing frozen concoctions that barely resembles what it should be; a perfectly balanced cocktail of citrusy bite and subtle sweetness. Island Dave’s Margarita Mix goes back to the basics. In a shaker, add 2 parts Island Dave’s Margarita Mix and 1 part 100% Blue Agave Tequila over ice. Shake well. Rim margarita glass with margarita salt and garnish with a lime wheel. Cheers!

Island Dave’s Mojitos

Looking for that perfect light and refreshing cocktail on a hot Summer’s day? In your favorite shaker, muddle with love (think bruise, not crush) a sprig worth of mint leaves into about an ounce or two of Island Dave’s mix release juices and essential oils. Add 2 jiggers of light rum ( you’re gonna love La Cana Grande Silver Rum) and ice. Top off your shaker with Island Dave’s and shake well. Garnish with a fresh sprig of mint and lime wheel. Cheers!

Passion Fruit Mojitos

    • Hi Ruth,
That’s a great question. If you’re looking to make a classic Daiquiri that was a favorite of Ernest Hemingway, the yes you can. In your favorite shaker filled with ice, add two parts Island Dave’s Margarita Mix and one part white Rum. Add a dash or two of Maraschino Liqueur and shake well. Best served in a chilled tall glass. You can also convert this to a Strawberry Daiquiri if you like by adding fresh strawberries instead of Maraschino Liqueur. Cheers!

  3. Dave, I was at the tasting on E. Colonial in Orlando over the weekend. What was the ratio you used for the coconut mojitos?

  4. When making the Key Lime Pie, I add a splash of the Coffee Mate Sweet Cream creamer on the top. It just seems to finish it. Love ya Dave!
